XR125 L5

The Honda XR125 L5 was my first motorbike complete with “L” plates for a learner.

I got it used from Chiswick Honda for around £1,500. When I got it there were still 6 months left on the manufacturer’s warranty and it came with AA roadside cover as well. Bonus!

The upright riding position was very comfortable and offered a very good view of the road. I think this is important for a new rider and would recommend one of these to anyone.

It was very economical to run getting 80 miles per gallon consistently. I didn’t do anything to this bike at all except change the oil regularly.

I ended up trading it in on my Fazer in February and got £1,000 for it. Not bad. That works out to about £70 per month. I couldn’t have rented something for that.
